Pomegranate pre-bonsai fruit; should I cut it off? was created by Clicio
Posted 7 years 11 months ago #32480Some sites advise to cut them off, to gain strenghth focusing on the trunk and branches.
So, what do you experts think, should I prune the fruits?

Posted 7 years 11 months ago #32482Thanks for your answer.Madartej21 wrote: Depends on your goals
My goals are growing a healthy tree for the moment; later, thickening the trunk by pruning.
Of course if I chose to grow a fruit tree, I want it to have them in the future.
The real question is, does it matter if I leave the fruits now, or pruning them is better for the tree?

hahaha, it's not ripe enough!
But... as Auk said I should cut if off, I will follow both advises: will wait a little longer, cut it and eat it!

You might as well do that. You should have removed the flowers. If the fruit is this size already, I guess there's no point removing them anymore.
You could have removed the flowers once they started wilting, before the fruit developed so the tree could have put the energy into better growth. I have de-flowered (wait... that sounds very wrong. But I like it. So I will leave it

Posted 7 years 11 months ago #32519Yes, I know, but... I like flowers, it is sort of difficult killing them. I will get over it, I hope.Auk wrote: You could have removed the flowers once they started wilting,..
