So yesterday I was at a gardening store (in south Sydney, Australia) and spotted a very small tree at a bonsai stand (I'm hesitant to call it a bonsai). It did not have a tag saying the species, and so I have no idea if its an indoor or an outdoor plant, what pests to look out for, etc. Its about 10cm tall and has fairly dense foliage of thin long flat leaves. Does this plant have potential to be a good bonsai? What species is it?

I recommend going back to the store that sold you the plant and ask them for care instructions& species information.

Could that be Chamelaucium?

Looks kind of like a Tamarix but i could be wrong.

Looks a bit like Pomegramate. Well that's a good mix of guesses

Could be a tamarix, which means time for me to do some weeping willow wiring

Also could be a Pomegranate. I'll find out if it starts to bear tiny fruit

I don't know what it is, but it certainly doesn't look like a Tamarix.
