I want to buy an Acer Buergerianum myself this winter as every year I have lots of problems with my Palmatum (which I'll care for anyway!)…
It's a young tree, with a stunning colour every springtime (see my profile picture), but every summer I really can't find any way to let it thrive in the hot Milan climate, with its leaves always scorched by the strong heat (though I keep it as much shaded at possible)…
I understood that the Buergerianum's leaves are stronger and more hardy, and therefore more suitable to my climate…

Hi Ricky, you're richt about the Palmatum. Even here in Holland I have problems with my Palmatum, the leave tips are turning brown in summer. This is because of burning sunlight, and too much wind. Palmatums are sensive..You can try to put him in a shaded place, out of the wind.Ricky73 wrote: Hello Marco, IMHO it is a very good specimen to start a great project!! Keep us posted on the progression…

Yeah.
Now you guys can imagine what happens to Palmatums in summer here in Brazil...
Almost impossible to keep them happy with extended temperatures of 35C and above.
