I really would like to discuss bonsai and not semantics here... but as you asked:
The only plants that have voluntary choosen my house as an environment and that grow really well are:
The basement mushroom that's growing under my floor.
The fungus on my bathroom walls.

(actually... these are not plants... so the answer is wrong :))

Hi Ed, what do you mean indoor bonsai don't exist?

I meant "Don't buy from people who call tropical/sub-tropical bonsai 'indoor bonsai' as they have no idea what they're talking about"

The material is OK, you just need to put work into it to make it look better. In the state that it is currently in, it is not too appealing and it looks mass-produced rather than original or full of meaning.
Prepare for a lot of time and effort to be put into the tree if you want it to look good.

Ok I know it needs work but I have no idea how to style it and where to put branches.

Looking at the second photo, I think you can trim the long shoots in the top a bit, but real styling is of no concern at this moment - first get this tree healthy and growing.

I have seen WAY worse fig material. Just get this strong, and healthy. that way, if you trim back in summer, you will get a MUCH better response than you would when cutting back now.
