About Manzanita tree

Id like to make a manzanita tree as a bonsai but all the branches i marcotted didnt have a root or didnt grow at all! What is the properties of this tree? Should i really start at a seed? Or is there a technique in grafting this tree. I like a manzanitas tree to be a bonsai because it has small leaves and very shruby whch soothes my taste.. Please help me.

Manzanita could be any of over 100 species of trees. Try to identify which species you have, then look into air layer techniques for the specific species.

As Leatherback said, there are many differnt species of Manzanita, some of them are suitable for bonsai.
Looking at the size and shape of the leaves of this one however, I'm going to say it is not.
(Had to guess the size though, as there's nothing in the photo to show some perspective)
