Yay! Now what?
I found an interesting little tree. The seller told me it was an elm but some furious googling (and the tag on the plant) ID'ed it as a looseflower hornbeam (aka red leaf hornbeam, aka Japanese hornbeam, aka etc etc. so many names) but it is Carpinus laxiflora. Only have found two others online though I'm sure there are more. One is at longwood gardens and one belongs to Bill Valavanis.
Does anyone know anything about working with these??? It was a little bit neglected and Charlie Brown right now but I'd like to take good care of it and make it lovely. The few examples I've found are very special. Dr Googél and I have been able to find very little about their care and training online. Any advice for a new student would be gratefully accepted. Thanks!
