Hello everyone,
Well first off let me start by saying I got this bonsai from a friend about a month ago. Long story short. When I first got it I partially defoliated it in order to decrease leaf size. I left a pair of leaves at each branch tip. Today the plant is looking pretty good, lot of new leaves have come out and instead of having 16/17 I started with after defoliation i now have 36. My question now is Since i have a lot of new healthy growing leaves would it be a good idea to “finish” the defoliation? What I mean by finish is only taking the old bigger and hardened off leaves from previous growing seasons. First so that it doesn’t have two different size leaves, and second in hopes of creating more backbudding.
Please share opinions and any advice
Thanks!

If you can count the leaves, then you really need to let the tree grow first
