Hello everyone.
There is a new shoot coming righ at the bottom of the bark. I am wondering if keeping it will thicken the bark? If it doesn't I'm gonna cut it off before it grows.

If you let that branch grow, the base of the tree will indeed thicken.
Do note, thick sacrifice branch means large pruning wounds.
I am a fan of letting low branches run to get som taper and mass on trunks.

hey , thanks for response , do you think it doesn't worth the scar or it won't thicken the trunk at all ? since Oscar and Leatherback said it would thickenm5eaygeoff wrote: No you should remove it.
