I did actually thin it out some, but... I probably should have been less conservative. If I cut it back in the next few weeks, will it cause problems? Larchs do backbud, right?

Posted 5 years 11 months ago #48763I think you know they do not. But if it was not tongue in cheek.. Larch do NOT backbud except for the occasional exception to the rule.Which is exactly why I pointed to keeping things light and open.tubaboy wrote: Larchs do backbud, right?

To be honest, I wasn't sure. And it seems like this guy was backbudding, as sever places seem to be opening up, that didn't have buds at the beginning of spring. Like here in the first two pictures.
I was actually able to get some branches wired and a bit thinned out, but fully understand now, that I should have done more in winter.
