Scientifically and philosophically the bonsai is immortal.

so this proves there is a bonsai heaven.
well if so, thats were im headin' B)

Sorry, but this is nonsense. As the tree dies, it scientifically is dead. Phylosophically you have jump through hoops to consider it to be alive

It depends what you consider dead Leatherback. Technically it's not drawing nutrients or photosynthesizing so in that sense it's "dead".

However, what we perceive as solid or living is really just particles of light similar to pixels that are assembled a certain way. When assembled, atoms and other tiny pieces of matter "can" create a bonsai. When something dies, the ties between cells are broken and they disperse back into the enviroment. Now you would say it's dead right? Well perhaps to some, but considering the universe is constant in the amount of material within it, you could argue that it didn't die it just changed shape and was reconfigured.

In the end, it depends on your point of view Leatherback. If you believe your prized spruce turned into a rotten mess from fungi and died, then believe that. I prefer to believe that I merely helped the plant on its cycle through the enviroment. I believe this brings a Positive view to an otherwise depressing event.

yep i have tree particals in my body ... i was just being silly anyway the whole heaven thing is very illogical to me. basically what everything is made of has been here and will be here indefinately.

just think of this... if the nucleous of a hydrogen atom was the size of a baseball and in your hand the electrons would be flying around miles away ...

just a mindblowing tidbit ;)

XD in chemistry, we got the question:you know that there is a relative 'big' distance between the core and the electoncloud, but what's in between?

about half my class said:air!

Yes what I'm saying is philosophical. Perhaps even to some foolish.

However, allow me to state, I did not suggest a bonsai heaven or souls.

I merely stated that because the basic units of life never are destroyed that "in a way" (note the parethetical statement) your bonsai is immortal.

My statement was merely a stab at the classic view of death.

This subject definitly got people thinking. Therefore, I welcome the chance to "respectively" discuss bonsai philosophy with you in the future.

this post looks a lot like Chemistry something(don't know the translation from dutch), it says that everything is determent by chemical reactions through the entire history.

yet again everything is true and false if you study history well enough.
