I’m moving to Florida and have a bunch of bonsai I have been growing. Norway maple and eastern white pine mostly. I was wondering how to go about allowing for the “winter” for these guys when it won’t get below freezing.

Tricky.

Of course you do not need frost, but you need a clear cold period, I think for both of these. I have heard people work with fridges and some are successful. It is complex though. I would say: Reach out to a bonsai club in that region and ask them, unless you get some input from some of our resident tropical growers.

Unless they are of particular emotional value, I think I would consider leaving them behind.

In northern Florida, it would be possible to make them survive and even thrive.

That is quite specific. What is this based upon? I would hate to see someone bring plants to Florida and loose them.

As far as I know pinus strobus needs cool weather and does not like higher temps. U Florida excludes cultivation of pinus strobus in southern US
