Does anybody have experience with lavender as bonsai?

I found a lavender shrub of about 20 years old, with a trunk diameter of 2 a 3 cm.
I think there is a very nice trunk in the shrub. (maybe 2 trunks)

is it possible to keep lavender on the long run ?

hi there, i have no experience with lavender, but i did have some experience with a rosemary. i think lavender aren't good for the long run, it can live for 15 years, if your lucky, 20.

There is one way to find out. If it has that good a trunk and some taper then why not? It might not be easy to get branches and pads but the same applies to other species.

maybe if you find a species that has a compact growth.. but i doubt it..

Not an obvious choice, seems quite hard to me to make a convincing bonsai out of it, and it won't live long.
It'll smell good though.

I am sure I cannot make a classic bonsai with lavender.
What I have is a trunk. I think it expresses some character (I must look in detail, when I prune all other branches). The foliage will not be compact. And it should be renewed very often.
