Pot has been purchased, but not repotted yet. The plant is one big ball of green fur again though! But I will let it grow. Repot at the end of summer, and if it responds well, rewire in late wiinter.

It deserves a beautiful pot , very nice tree!

Question:
Do you have any Juniper you started from cutting or seedlings?

I have a bunch of seedlings sitting in a field, trying to grow.
I have just this weekend transitioned 20 cuttings from this spring into separate containers, as they had rooted, and wired up some 4, 5 year old cuttings. But if you mean, do I have juniper bonsai I grew from seed/cutting: no, not yet. 10-15 years to get some form of trunk..

As we talked about a few months ago, I made some Juniper cuttings almost a year ago, and now I don't feel like they gonna root, maybe one...

So I sowed a bunch of seeds in mid/late winter, for my suprise about a dozen has germinated (pure rough sand), and I feel like they need a slightly richer soil to actually grow...

If you have the time, anytime, to show the little ones, it would be nice, even on your website.

Btw, I've been checking it, great content you have there.

How do you treat the cuttings? Semi-shade, humid environment and wait?

I had to move some cuttings as the birds were at it again and repotted, noticing roots so I planted them up. Normally I prefer to wait till late winter.

As for website.. Time to start writing again. Winter is coming.

Cuttings substrate looks like yours, but less organic I think.
Semi-shade, getting a bit of sun during the day.
Humid environment, check. (Watering, when feel like drying and waiting, since Dec/Jan)

Last month I thought they were rooted, but they fooled me, there was no root at all, but it was calloused at the bottom, I place them back on the substrate and let it be...

I just looked, and two of them seems to be growing a bit, but I'm just starting to think that for Junipers, maybe it's easier if you just forget it, keeping it hopeless, and if it root, great...

So far it seemed a lot easier just sow the seeds in winter, even stratifying was natural on these...
That's how they look today, the bigger one (on the bottom) has a yellowing needle. Don't know if that's a problem.


This are the cuttings. You can see that two of them has lime green tips, the other ones are pretty much dead.
Timing on those were bad, but I got those cuttings on work trip, so I considered this a bonus... Maybe I'll buy myself a decent Juniper sapling (knowing the variation) for Christmas.
