I have grown these trees from seeds. I planted them when I found out my wife was pregnant with each child and plan to give the tree to my children when they become older.
I am basically looking for next steps on these trees. They were both planted in 2018. The one in the blue and black pot almost died when I left it outside the night the Chiefs won the superbowl (you can infer how that happened), but I was able to nurse it back to heath. The Jacaranda has two trees. The second and taller of the two randomly popped up 1 year ago and has exploded.
What steps do I need to do next?

One edit to original post: these were planted in 2020. Not 2018. [at

Next step is continous growth. In 2-3 years it is time for repotting. As for now I cannot.see any need for anything else. But it largelly depends on your vision for this tree. So that is what you should focus on. Read a lot about the the species and look at reference pictures. Make up a plan how you would like the trees to look in the future. Once you have done that, someone may give you better targeted advice.

Two years later. One doesn’t seem to be coming back after winter. Does either seem ready for re-potting?

If it is not deciduous or in a tropical environment then it looks dead.
