Greetings;
So, I had gotten this twig online from a Nursery that deals with Japanese maples. I have no idea what to do with it now. it seems to be just twig-but it does have a small root ball in the soil. The soil I am using is for Japanese maples.
I need advice on what to do with it. I have included some pics of it for viewing.
I will take all advice. I need help here. I have no idea what to do.
Thank you.

At this time of year it should have leaves. I hope you only took it inside to take the picture, you will kill it (if it is alive) if you leave it inside. There is nothing to do for at least 2 years, it has to grow.

Now that it is already potted up there are nothing else to di than letting it grow. Next time before potting it up, identify the tap root and remove it. In this case you need to wait until next repotting.
Some cultivars is very sensitive for full sun. When you take it ouside, make sure it is in a semi shaded place with just a few hours of direct sunlight.
But, yes. There are a risk that you were sent a dead tree.
