My good luck run with tropicals and indoor bonsai hit a snag recently when I bought a pre-bonsai dwarf natal plum at a bonsai nursery. After re-potting from a nursery container to a bonsai pot and placing under a full spectrum indoor light set-up, the leaves began to curl up and dry out. For the last three weeks it's water intake has been minimal, I've had to water it twice. I would think it was dead, but the leaves don't break despite being dry. The branches have bend to them.

Currently I am hospitalizing it in on a window sill where it gets several hours of morning sunlight and mist the leaves once a day. I have experienced tropicals that have had an adjustment period from greenhouse to indoor lighting before, but not to any extreme like this. The tree was low-cost, but I don't like to give up on any plant or bonsai tree. My gut instinct is that I should have given it more time to adjust to the lighting before repotting, but that has never been an issue for me in the past. Suggestions?

We do not have any indoor bonsai experts in this forum. But my guess is that this is caused by low humidity.

If you are in the nortern hemisphere. Move it outdoors. First in full shade and during a period of 4-6 weeks slowly move into more sun.
