Hi, new to the?forum hopefully someone here can help me out. So I'm located in the southwest of the UK? and I?recently moved a 4yr old acer from a large 20litre pot to a near by bed say around 5 yards away. In the last couple of weeks it isn't doing well even though there is another acer right next to it which is flourishing. I've watered it 3 times and the soil is similar to what it's use to. I did add compost and ericaceous mix when planted but not to any considerable amount. I'm at a lost on what to do next, the leaves are wilted but not browning, the stems are still green underneath the bark. Any help would be most gratefully accepted.

Not a good idea to move a tree in full leaf at the wrong time of the year. Hope fully it is simply reacting to root disturbance when growing. It may well lose leaves before starting to recover. Go easy on the water, don't let it dry out. It would be better in shade. Time will tell if it is going to live.

If it was in a pot and just moved into the soil there should be no root dusturbance involved and it should no react like that on just moving a few meters. But, Yes. Making sure it is moist at all times is the only thing you can do.
