This Jade bonsai tree is mostly dead. However, it does have one or two leaves of new growth.? Is there anything I can do to save it? Thanks for any help!

I'm glad after a few pages of digging I found a topic related to my issue. Apologies for my novel in advance.

I received a Dwarf Jade a few months ago as a gift and am new to the hobby. I have two main issues from what I notice. It was in one of the tiny seedling type plastic throw away pot's and was in almost the same condition as it is now. Yellow leaves and bark looking pretty dry. I did repot it into what it is in now. My reasoning was because the pot seemed to small and the roots were in a tight root ball. Bad Idea? Picture 1.

It did have one long branch coming off the main trunk with severe damage (60% to 80%) through it. I wanted to keep the damage and the branch because I though it would look like a pretty cool scar and give it some character. After a few weeks however the wound was drying out and seemed to almost through the branch. So I decided to go ahead and remove the branch (You can kind of see the wound behind the wire and has healed pretty well). Picture 2.

I guess the main the question I have is the leaves are staying yellow. I have a couple small buds appearing finally. I'm not sure if I'm over watering or underwatering as I have read two different things and kind of lean to watering less then more. I have it outdoors and our temp here currently is approx. 80F and will get higher. It does get plenty of direct with some shading throughout the day. I've read that the leaves will never come back to being green and it will just produce more and those will be green. Is that true for this species. Picture 1 and 3

You have a varigated dwarf jade tree. It will never grow new fully green leafs.

If you do not like the yellow, if you thought it was a sign of illness, why did you buy it in the first place?

I didn't say I didn't like the color I was unsure if that was normal. Also, it was gifted to me like I said before. Good to know it's a different type of Dwarf Jade I like that it is different personally. Kind of like how I mentioned I wanted the to keep the scar from the damage.?

After reading more in these forums and a bunch of your responses it does help with the lack of patience us newbies have including myself.?
