Prunus okame
Indoor18-6-8 bonsai fertilizerNeem oil for pest controlFull-spectrum grow light for 12 hoursPerfect Plants bonsai soilAdding water until drains when soil stops sticking to fingers
Indoor RH 33-50%

Am I doing anything wrong? I bought this sapling from a highly rated seller on Etsy since the tree I grew from a seed did the same thing and died. I'm a complete bonsai noob so I'm sure I'm missing a step. Or three...

What you are missing is that cherries is temperate plants and must be grown outdoors in temperate regions to survive.

Hi AirplaneMan,
Your Prunus okame might be struggling because it’s an outdoor species kept indoors without a proper dormancy period, even with your solid care routine. I recommend moving it outside when temps allow and keep a close eye on soil moisture, as your 33-50% indoor humidity might be drying it out too fast.
