Leaves are turning brown! was created by catsplants

Please help! I just received a Ginseng ficus for a mother's Day gift and I repotted it with 名媛直播 soil. I don't see any visible pests. I'm not entirely new the plant care but new to 名媛直播 care. Two days ago the leaves were all mostly green then the next day several leaves have turned brown. I will attach pictures, thank you! :)

Did you know that mothers day is on different date depending where you are in the world?

Anyway, all mothers days is after beginning of Mars, which means that you waited less than 2 months before doing your first repot. Why did you do that? Where there any signs of urgent repotting needed? What were those signs?

How was the repotting done and what aftercare has been applied?

Hello, thank you. No I completely forgot about that. There were a lot of fungus gnats so I wanted to give it fresh soil. Is the brown possibly from stress from repotting so soon?

When something gets wrong with a tree fast, always look for recent changes. In this case there are two options. Recent change in environment and repotting. One of them is the reason.

How was the repotting done?

There is no difference between plant care and bonsai care. 名媛直播 are plants. Why did you re pot the plant? Did it need doing? You should always have a reason to do it, not just because you have just got it. It is probably reacting to change of environment and a re pot as well. You need to learn to be patient, now just water when needed and wait before doing anything else.

Geoff: The reason for repotting was already mentioned. It was fungus gnats. I do think there are better ways to deal with them.

I missed that bit, but they do not cause any real problem usually it is because the soil is too wet.?

Yes, I agree. Usually too wet is because it is too much organics in the soil. So in the long run it makes sence to repot. However, I agree it is not urgent. Especially not for a beginners first tree within 2 months of purshasing.

A good reason to repot would be to get the plant out of whatever cheap thing it was in at the store. Some of them come in plastic shells that are not a permanent home for the plant.

Agree again. But is it a reason for a beginner that had the tree for less than two months to repot?

I still concider myself a beginner after 8 years in the hobby. I never rush into repotting newly purshased trees. I follow a strict regime of repotting earliest the first right repotting season after a full succesful growing season in my care. That means that most trees I got myself during this growing season will not be repotted until spring 2027. Some of them later.
