Hi I will attach a before and after photo of my tree.
It was showing signs that new growth was coming.
It was inside my house and I put it outside fir some sunlight.
On returning it to my house there was new growth that unfortunately one of my cats started to pull off.
At present there are 3 green shoots but no leaves.
Has this gone beyond saving.
Any help appreciated?

You could put it outside and keep watered and hope, it is possible that it will grow again. Keep it away from your cats. The cats did not do that amount of damage, keeping it inside and that poor soil is why it is almost dead.

I wote for puting it on the compost pile. Yes, you may be able to save it, but to get it back to a nice starter material is 10-15 years away. You may not want to look at an ugly stump that long??

Just because there is green under the bark does not mean it is alive. You may be lucky and it recovers, it will never be as strong or healthy as before. It depends on the species, some will come back others will not. You could just wait and see, I agree with Tropfrog though, if it does recover it will be a long time looking at a stump. If it was mine unless I needed the pot it would be chucked in a corner, watered and wait. If I needed the pot then it would be in the bin.
