Juniper Itoigawa was created by Ferenc

This spring I bought a beautiful Chinese juniper itogawa that was in a bonsai pot. I planted it in my garden in the spring in a mixture of akadama, pumice and garden soil. I fed it only the best Japanese nutrients and moistened its leaves with water early in the morning and evening. However, after a heat wave in the summer, the top dried up. Now I don't know if it was because it didn't get enough water or if it was attacked by a beetle? I would like your help with this, what should I do? Is the plant permanently damaged, should I cut off the dry ones, maybe it will sprout in the spring! The pictures were taken at the beginning of September. Thank you in advance for your answer and help.?
