Some kinda wax tree - help was created by hein

This is a pic of a tree in our garden. It has wax like flowers in season. My dad said that its origin is from Australia and he said its family of the pine tree.

That would make me think of Casuarina ( )

Do the needles consist of little bits of green attached to one another?
