Does anybody have any experience with training a prunus lusitanica. I saw some old potted shrubs but i do,not know if you can make a proper bonsai of this species.

The prunus genus is generally suitable for bonsai, but I'm not sure about Portugal laurel. I guess it's worth a try.

The Prunus lusitanica is an evergreen. It has a torch of small flowers I wondered wether the leaves would become smaller by training it as a bonsai. The wood seems solid to cut.

Again, I'm not quite sure. Relatives of Portugal laurel such as cherry can have their leaves reduced.
I say it's worth a shot, please post an update if you get good results.
