HELP: I bought this little bonsai from Dobbies Garden Centre yesterday, I picked it because it was different than all my others. The problem is that all the bonsais Dobbies has for sale didn't have any names on them; so I have no idea what my little tree is called. Can anyone help with it's name please?

Always surprised that people buys something that they donot know, and not evenask the seller what it is they are buying.

Don't know the shrub.

At first it looked like an azalea, but I've seen one with similar leaf structure that was a boxwood varietal. The exact name escapes me, but I have the list at home. Will review later this evening.

... I'm calling boxwood.

Thank you both for your replies.
I did ask at the shop but they didn't know, and had complained to the supplier. But I just liked the look of it, I just hope that it is a bonsai because it wasn't cheep :-(

It is not the species that decides whether something is a bonsai, but the training. Your plant does not qualify as bonsai.

It isn't azalea because of the glossy leaves. Azaleas do not have glossy leaves. I looks more like a Gardena but that is just my guess. If you can keep it alive through spring you will definitely know if it is a Gardena. As mentioned by others this isn't considered bonsai (even though it is sold as such). I can one day become a bonsai but right now it is a young plant in a pot. I challenge you to check out bonsai empire and learn as much as you can. This is an awesome and challenging hobby.

Thank you so much for your kind reply, I will do my best to keep it going as I'm not new to keeping bonsais. I have 4 other bonsais and 8 seedlings that I planted just a few months ago.
I am planning on posting a couple of other questions when I take some photos in the next few days, the two smallest seedling are; Golden Chain Tree & Chinese Rose Bud. The seeds were planted in different pots, but the seedlings look identical, so I'm wondering if I could have made a mistake when I planted them, and if I did which one have I got twice
And I have a quite tall Azalea seedling, where the leaves have very large brown patches and are dropping off; so there is only one patchy leave left and the newest leave that at the moment looks OK left. So I'm doing something wrong with it, I just hope it's not to late to save it :(
