Can anyone help me to identify this growth on my 10 year old bonsai?
My tree is stuggeling, the fresh green leaves that came out this year has died back after just 2 weeks. I'm afraid the tree might be dying.
Any answer is much appreciated.

can you make a picture of the entire tree, and give a bit more info about where the tree is placed, how long you have it, etc? If its dead there is nu use in searching what the growth is...

I have owned the tree for 4 years. During summer time the tree has been placed outdoors, with some direct sunlight but not all day. During winter time the tree has been placed indoors due to low temperatures (I live in Norway). Every year the leaves have had what looks a bit like a sunburn on the tips of the foliage.
About 6 weeks ago the tree started with it's new cycle of foliage, but 2 weeks later it was all yellow. The larger tree is drying up in its smaller branches, and the smaller tree seems to be fine.

Yikes... that doesnt look healthy. I'm not an expert with redwood- but my guess is that is died from being inside- even though you did that already a few years..
There is not a tree in the world that lives naturally indoors.
Second: soil looks very bad, and because you have placed it on your wooden fllor i guess there is no hole in the pot underneath to let excess water drain out?How much water do you give it when its indoors?
My first idea: it's dead... but there is also some green to see in your picture so...
