Hello! I taking care of my friend's bonsai tree during the quarantine. The tree was doing well untill 2-3 weeks ago, when I noticed some oddly looking little white spots on the older leaves. (Only on the upper sides. Nothing on the downsides) I figured out it must be some dirt or dust from the misting water, so not really cared. The tree was healthy. But after some days, I noticed more white spots on the older leaves, and the whole tree was became a little paler. It's losed some color. So I went to a gardening store, showed the pictures, and the seller said it must be some mite infection, and I bought a spray for that. (it was a simple pinewood oil extract, a 0.5% water liquid, so nothing strong). At first, it's worked well, but after 2-3 day, the leaves started to get curly, go brown, and fell down. (I used the right ammount, and followed the istructions properly). After 3 servings, (5 day between serving) the tree is in terrible condition. I don't know it's caused by the spray, or the originall sickness was worsened. I had to cut down ta lot of very sick leaces, and also lot of fall down by his own. It's losed around 30-40% of his leaves). Before that, I sprayed with mist 3 times a day. (My house is very dry, and this is a tropicall species. So i thinked it would cause no harm). Now I mist it only once a day. It get generous ammount of water every 3 day. (I always make sure the soil is moist, but I do not overwatering it. The pot is a proper 名媛直播 pot with a big waterhole). If the the weather is right, I take it outside to take some sun for 1-1,5 hour . (it's next to my windows, but sometimes it haven't got mutch light, but it was fine before) I using bonsai fertileser on every 2 weeks as the instructions said. But looks the situation is not getting better. Anyone knows what would be caused this and what is the solution? Is that possible to save this tree at this stage? Pictures are in belov. (From the left after the first signs, and from the right is the current state).

the white looks like scale, left behind when you sprayed with water. i see nothing wrong. stop using oil. many trees dislike this.

I stopped already. If it was the problem, is this possible it will take a recovery after some weeks? The tree was strong before and well cared. I know added fresh soil to the upside and fertiliser to the pot. If this is the case, how much time need to make a proof?
