Hey, new here.
Spent a good hour searching already discussed topics and answers but no one seems to have the same looking bugs in their soil.
I have a 12 year old tree of a thousand stars (serissa foetida) and I have noticed when I water all these little flat worm like bugs come out of the soil. They don’t look like springtails that are common in humid bonsai soils. Any ideas on what they are and how to get rid of them?

How long do you have that tree, and how long ago was it repotted? That soil looks really waterlogged, i even see some algae. Ideal for bugs

Hey, I have only had the tree for maybe 3 weeks. I let the soil dry every day before watering lightly.
No idea when it was last repotted. Do you think repotting could help?

It is not the right time to re pot. You need to water properly, not to a schedule. The roots high out of the pot looks odd. Just because there are "bugs" in the soil does not mean they are a problem. The way the tree is watered could be the cause. From what I can see it is going to have enough light, so it may have reasonable growth at the moment but it will not last long. This species is not easy to keep.
