I just read an interesting news article that hydrogen peroxide will treat root rot. It kills all,the bacteria, etc., rotting the roots and provides oxygen as it breaks down.

I don't intend on overwatering anything to try it out but I will share the idea.

That is totally logical as hp oxidices everything organic in its way. The tricky part is to give the right concentration. Too much and it will kill roots as well

I forgot. The article said 1/3 HOOH 2/3 water.

That ratio will kill everything. I get 3% H2O2 from my local drugstore, which I dilute maybe 1:10, so the stuff I spray on unhealthy trees is maybe around 0.3% H2O2. And yes, it works.

I was suspecting an error here, but wasent sure. An accident happened many years ago 1 liter 3% killed all fish in a 300 liter aquarium, the plants made it thou. Since then I have been careful with that chemical. It is important that there are enough dead organic material to oxidice on. When dead organic material is finished it will start to work on alive material no matter concentration.

It was 1/3 cup of HOOH solution in the bottle from the drugstore, which it said is .3%. Since it is to solve root rot, I guess this is to be done without regular watering.

Yes, 1% sounds more right. The important thing then is to know when to stop.
