I stared at this tree for days even months. I am proud of where it is now. I have options for the future. I have left most of the foliage intact so it can have a strong growing season. I may end up jin'ing the bottom left branch. I wanted to share its progress

Yes, nice movement, I like them Itoigawas.
Two points called my attention:
- There are quite a few wires crisscrossing alongside the second and third branches. Isn't the thicker wire enough for the movement, keeping the thinner wire only for the thinner ramification?
- in the Spring let it grow a while before pruning, Itoigawas easily revert to juvenile foliage (needlelike) .
Congrats!

Good eye! I didn't want to cross the wires but I did. They will all come off as soon as the tree starts pushing growth this spring and reapplied as needed due to the situation

Unfortunately, I needed to apply a heavier wire to set the position in two main places, the thinner wire wasn't holding. It was slowly springing back over days.

Temporary solution. I promise.
