so i need some suggestions. A few weeks ago i made the first major bend on this juniper. But the straight section before the bend up top is really bothering me. like its an eye sore. almost as if it needs a little more movement in that section. every time i sit back and look at the tree my eyes go straight to that section.your thoughts?

I agree with you; it should have at least a very sharp turn somewhere along the trunk.
Literattis are *very* difficult to have a good balance.

a sharp bend would definitely help. i've seen pictures of a pine floating around the internet with a smooth bend like this and almost no movement on the trunk that looks neat but man this just looks unpleasing to my eyes. lol i dont know if its just the fact that the other one is developed and mine is not.

What you have created is a smoot parabola. That is a boring shape. Break it up, Make some twists in the trunk. This is a young plant with a flexible trunk. Put some wire on it, and bend it.

I would have bend it to the otherside, because of the base. And try to make more movement in the trunk.
If you go for this side maybe something like this. (put the wire better on the tree if you make a sharp bend)

Interesting little tree you have there.

Have you played around with the panting angle? It is very vertical now.. :)
