Found a truncated ficus -- solutions for making it less obvious? was created by Evinsong

I recently found a ficus (not sure exactly what species) in a New York Chinatown. The trunk was abruptly cut off. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make it less obvious?
Thanks in advance for any advice. A picture is attached.

Noted. I wonder how that'll look on a ficus!

It will rot away very soon.
You need to cut it as smooth as possible with the lines of the branches and let the branches grow like made for a year or two to cover it.
In most places it will never heal over.
