I know this is not necessarily A bonsai question but here it is can I do two air layers on the same branch meaning if there were a trunk and two branches out of the trunk can I air layer all three at the same time? If and it was done already which one would be surviving ? And if not would a third branch coming out of the trunk make it any better?

No, I don't think so. With two air layers the sap flow to the lower layer will be interrupted. The upper one may survive. Not sure what you mean with the third branch.

I mean that out of the trunk there is a third branch that was not air layered does that mean that it’s fine?

Typed an answer, changed my mind: I think it MAY work, but not as well as a single air layer.

Then I Googled it.. and found it is actually possible.

OK - let us know how it works out too.

The flaw in my thinking was:

There's a sap flow going up, and next going down. When you air-layer, you interrupt the flow going down. That's why the tree will form roots there.
Now, if you have two airlayers, the sapflow will not reach that lower layer - was my reasoning. But the flaw is: there WILL be, if there's a branch in between the two layers. There will still be a sap flow to that branch and back. to the lower layer. This may be less so this may develop less quickly, but that's what I expect, but am not sure of. It'll depend on where the layers are and how much branches/foliage above the layer.
