Hello,
Here are a couple photos of my first bonsai that I began with about 5 years ago. I am a beginner and I've just been working on watering, fertilizing, light requirements, trimming, repotting, and wiring on test subjects. I have re-potted this tree twice since purchase. Now, I am ready to learn about styling and design. I know the basic concepts of taper and triangles. However, I dont know how to plan ahead for these things or anything about style. Please let me know your general thoughts or future options for this tree. Thanks in advance!

Welcome. This is definitely the place to learn. The first thing I learned was; a sapling in a small pot is not a bonsai, haha!
