I can't help myself I hate to throw away anything of value, but after cutting all the little pieces of wire off of the branch I have dozens of pieces of wire a few centimeters long. Copper has some value, but is there any reasonable way to recycle/reuse these little pieces?
My dissertation adviser is like this. He blames it on being Dutch, which Leatherback may comment on. I could blame it on my Scots background, but I think I am really just cheap.

I do the same.
I also use the smaller cut pieces to loop around the wire rolls and keep them tight and neat.

I have a jar full of wire cut-offs. Not just for monetary value. But more also because I think there is a limit to the supply of resources and we might do well to recycle. Needless to say.. Mine go with the old scarp metal to be recycled.

I do not see enough money coming out of it to counter the time needed to get it sold somewhere.

I disagree that Dutch are cheap. Frugal maybe. Cheap.. No.

Same here: parts that are a bit longer are being reused in attachments/guywires,... everything else goes into the scrap metal container. Nothing to do with being cheap- although the Dutch really are frugal , as a Belgian i know:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I said I was cheap. My adviser and I laugh about our habits.

Actually, the penny pincher that puts both of us to shame is my Chinese brother in law who spots a bargain ten miles away. I doubt that the habit is genetic.
