I have a Japanese Maple seedling, that has a beautiful curve in its trunk. It is still in a pot and while I was putting some wire on it to accentuate the curve and I put a tiny split in the trunk. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks

That doesn't look like a tiny split? Looks like it's half of the trunk and pretty deep and wide.I'm looking at that part under that cut off branch.
How long ago did this happen?

You can put some glue in the crack, bend it back so the split is more closed and then wrap it with something like grafting tape, parafilm, raffia or electric tape. Wood glue would be best but anything not outrageous should do the trick. Elmer's/school glue would be fine. I wouldn't go for Gorilla glue or rubber cement.
And hope for the best.

Just leave it alone. This is a crack in line with the wood fibres and in reality very little damage seems to be done. Learn the elsson: Branch forks can split open fairly easily.
Once the curve has set and you have cut the wire off: trim the stub flush with the trunk. Cover with cut paste. In a year or two bark will have grown over the site.
