Let it grow or prune it?

I just got this ficus bonsai today at Walmart. I am not sure if I should prune it because it looks quite young.

It is young. Not sure why you want to prune it? It's not a bonsai, and pruning it won't make it a bonsai.

Elms and maples are listed too. Doesn't mean that every elm or maple is a bonsai.
This is just a young ficus, not shaped, in a pot with a rock and some dead moss. It's not even a mallsai.
