Hm.. Not so much overprune, as pruned wrong I think. You have removed a lot of inner foliage. This will be hard to get back. The challenge with coniferous species is to keep the foliage on the inside and as such, untill wiring you try to keep a bunch of branches inside so you have options during styling. Now you do not have that anymore.
