Here are two pictures. In February it was pretty obvious that the second picture had the front. Since then the entire left branch died. The bark is peeling of, and it's not contributing any green stuff to the design. It looks like picture 2 is the front now.
Opinions?
A second question is what to do with the piece that died. Leave it on and have three carved pieces? Chop it off? Leave it on and cut off the tall piece, then carve away?
The tree is 50 years old, dug up April 2019, potted February, boxwood. The wood is hard as nails.

The old front would remain my front. But.. Maybe just let it sit for a year. Get healthy and inspiration?

Looking from the front the big left root seems to be dead, because the bark is peeling off, but this wood lasts forever, so there may not be much problem leaving it as is.
Given the three chunks of dead wood sticking up, leave allt three? You can see some carving already. That has taken a lot of time, so whatever I am going to do I might want to be starting on.

Here is one of the root on the left taken from the front and one from behind. You can see the bark flaking off.
