Hi all, I have a question I just bought a Mugo pine from garden centre. My plan is to give my friend it as a present for his birthday in November. Is it good idea to do pruning and repotting now? I don’t have experience with pine . Thanks

For many reasons I think it is a bad idea.

- Do not repot and wire in one session unless you know what you are doing
- Do not give people bonsai. Rather give them a coupon to go and find one with you (What you like, does not have to be what your friend likes)
- Do not give time-demanding gift like bonsai unless they express that they want one. Then go for Nr. 2.

Well my friend saw my bonsai and he said he would like one but some cypress so that’s why I said I’ll make one for him
