I assume root suckers are bad as they likely steal energy from the main tree. As such, I'm planning to prune them away unless I'm missing something and they have hidden value (as a cultivated clipping maybe or future second trunk/branch).

No hidden value I am aware of. Cut away. Looks like yours are from the nebari, so you can’t cut them off with a piece of root to put in a new pot as such. Obviously if you can cut them with some roots, propagating cannot get much easier.
