Hi all! I am new to this group and to bonsai in general!I bought a starter kit last year and from that kit, I have a Blue Jacaranda (J. mimosifolia) that has sprouted up and I am wondering if it is the right size/age to start pruning the leaves/branches back to shape it a little? If it is able to be pruned, what is the best way to do so? and how many pairs of leaves should I leave on the branches?

no, it is too early. And I am venturing a guess, what you think are branches are the leaves.

Glad I asked before I started cutting. I wasn't sure about if the whole thing was leaves or if each individual piece was a leaf.
