Hello! This is my first post here after a year of reading about bonsai on this forum. I have learned a lot and I am glad that I waited to post since most of my questions were previously answered from other peoples posts. I received this tree as an "indoor bonsai" Christmas of 2019 from my uncle and quickly learned it should be outside from this forum. After having it outside for over a year and worrying that it wouldn't make it out of winter(forgot to bring it into the garage on a night it went to about -10 C) I am very pleased with how it is doing. Now that I know I can keep my tree alive I am excited to get into giving my tree some shape. There is one larger branch that goes upward at a 45 degree angle that I think I am going to remove(I put a red line through the branch I am talking about in one of the pictures). Is this a good idea? I am inexperienced though so any advice on what to prune would be great!
