I'm brand spanking new to this. I purchased a blue rug juniper this morning at the depot. I started rooting around looking for the trunk and end up finding three of them. Should I separate them or can/should I wire them together?

You should do nothing at this point. I know, the hardest thing for beginners.
Just let your tree get used to your care and environment for a full growing season. That us time enough to find out what you want to do with the tree, what design you want. If it is healthy and growing after that you can start execute your plan with the right timing in mind.
You can separate them or let them stay together that is entirely up to you and your plan for the final design.
You do know that junipers needs to be outside at all times?

I'm not 100% sure what I want to do but I am 85%. I have a image in my head I just didn't know if could do it.
I appreciate your honesty about waiting, in the back of my mind I was thinking the same thing even though I really don't want too.
