When to Begin Pruning?

Hi!
I've had both of these bonsai, serissa japonica and portulacaria afra, for about 4 weeks now. They are indoor bonsai and I feel like I'm now comfortable with their watering and sunlight needs. The serissa does get some occasional yellow leaves, but I believe that is because I used to overwater it.
I wanted some advice on when to begin pruning or should I continue to let them grow for now? Thanks!

Not sure where you are located. But if you are in the northern hemisphere in a region that knows cold winters, keep in mind these are as healthy as they will be in the year. Do not prune till spring growth is comeing in.
Your serissa looks dry tbh

Thank you for the advice!
I initially thought I was underwatering the serissa, but then I read yellowing leaves and brown tips were signs of overwatering. That's when I slightly reduced how much I watered it. The past two days have been sunny so I don't know if that has anything to do with it looking dry. Thanks again!
Also, I shoulda add that this picture was taken right after I watered the serissa which is why it is slightly wilting in the picture.
