When to start pruning and wiring a new tree? was created by LCampbell1301

Hi!
New to the community and hobby in general, I've started a Japanese Wisteria from seed in July 2021 so coming up to about a year now and pretty happy with the growth so far. However I'm unsure as to when to start pruning and wiring it up as most things I've read say that a tree of this age should be so much smaller and to wait until it's at least 3 to begin wiring.
Any help or tips for what to do and when to do it would be greatly appreciated!
KR,
Lewis

There are basically two things that makes sense to do with young trees. Cutting taproot and wire the trunk.
