It is a bit hard to see what the structure of the tree is. I do not know Operculicarya Pachypus, so I have little to add; I do not know how it grows and buds.

This species has a fat root when older. Not really suitable for bonsai in spite of the youtube video. Comes from Madigascar so is tropical and needs frost protection. Nothing else to say.

I purchased this plant because it is unique and beautiful. Also, I didn't state that I don't know what to do with it, but simply asking for input as to where to prune this plant for the first time. Thanks for everyone that responded.

Here is my goal...not a good bonsai specimen?? I have to disagree as this specimen is amazing work of man and nature.
