Hi everyone,
Recently this link was posted and i got very interested in it although it has little to do with the proper concept of bonsai, i think it could make my indoor trees look more interesting. The only thing is that its quite expensive i think.
What does everybody else think ?

$25-35 isn't too much for a high powered magnet and electromagnet. It's kinda pointless though; if the tree's good enough, it doesn't need gimmicks.

I think there's a reason why that link was posted in the non-sai topic.

How are you going to keep your 25 yo shimpaku alive in that thing?

BTW I think this isn't really bonsai, but kokedama / kusamono:

I think the lowest price for the whole kit is $200 i think the offer at 25 or 35 is just the floating ball or lava rock.
Well if the tree is good enougth i agree but i dont even have one tree that i consider good enough yet so i might find use in some of these gimmicks :) lol
But seriously i think its something quite nice to have in youre living room , and i dont think i could diminish the history ant culture of bonsai like all mallsais do , neither do i think it will improve or upgrade it in anyway , i just think its a good idea :).

Ohh ok now i understand , i had already watched that video but by the way they said it i thought kokedema was the type of soil or the way it was prepared i didnt realize it was a separate art in its own .
Looking at it this way i see they use bonsai as a kind of theme for what they are doing .
Sorry to have wasted your time on this subject but thanks for clearing things out for me ;)

I have seen this on facebook too. The idea is interesting, with a high wow factor. HOwever, the price, and the need to be plugged into a power socket mae it a no-go for me. And nope, I would not use it for bonsai, but for a nice accent plant this might be an interesting concept.
