Hi guys,
I'd like to ask what is the perfect soil for chinese elm bonsai tree.
Also the soil on my bonsai is turning green and I don't know what it means. I have my bonsai by the window (east) so it gets couple hours of morning sun. On the other hand live in UK so it's not really hot sun, especially now around autumn. And I water my bonsai when the soil is almost dry. I just pour water on it from the top until it runs from the drainage holes.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

The only thing you are doing wrong is keeping your tree inside! The light is so poor that the moss can grow easily. The sun in the summer is a strong as anywhere but not inside. Chinese Elm is hardy to at least -10C and need the variation in seasons to grow well.
