Hy all! First topic on this forum. I'm sorry if my english is not so good, but i will try to send the right message:)
So, i started reading about bonsai about 4 months ago, and from 1 month ago i bought some trees, ordered some tools and started working.
For my bonsai mix, i bought pumice, lava rock, and a bit of akadama(expensive in Romania - about 3 euro per litre). Because i want more water retention i searched for an organic component, that will be 20-40% in the mix. After a couple of days i found these in my country:
and
These ones are easy to find where i live and i thought to be the best choice.
Thanks!!!

Welcome to the Forum!
I would opt for the second choice, from:
And.. I wouldn't use more than 20% in a mix with Akadama/Pumice/Lava.

Salut Paul !
I remember having the same problem as you as the scarcity of bonsai products is very high in Romania. However, I am buying my soils from this website: . The price/quality ratio is very good and it's perfectly normal to pay 3 euro for 1L of akadama ( I suggest you search the whole process and effort Japanese people are putting into creating this soil ). I don't see the point in buying soil from the UK, ONLY IF you happen to live there. As far as I'm concerned Akadama soil comes only from Japan so there is no reason to doubt the products you find in Romania

Salut!
Thank both of you for quick reply.
Rong, i have bought akadama, pumice and lava rock from atelierbonsai, but i wanted some organic component to retain more water.
Those links that i have posted are only for the description of them. I will buy them from a romanian site, indoorgardens.ro
Rong, can you add me on facebook? My name is Colta Paul, i am from Bistrita and i have a photo with me and my future wife as profile picture.
